Roger Morrell
Director of Recovery Ministries
Roger and Clarissa have been married since 2004. Roger has two children Amber and Brian. Roger began attending Celebration in 2002 after a life long struggle with depression and alcohol abuse. Celebration provided a safe place for healing through non condemning biblical teaching on grace and forgiveness that brought enormous healing into his life that fueled a passion to bring others to this same place of healing through the ministry of Celebrating Freedom that began in 2005.
Clarissa came to Celebration in 2003 where she and Roger met and also served together in the singles ministry. They currently serve as leaders of Celebrating Freedom. Roger enjoys carpentry, golf, swimming and reading.
Amber Smith
Celebrating Freedom Administrative Assistant
Amber Smith has been leading the Kids Rock class with Celebrating Freedom since October 2006. She accepted Christ at six years old and has had many additional steps of surrender over her lifetime. She has experience as a nanny, foster parent, preschool teacher and childcare provider. She also has completed college courses in childhood development, early childhood education, teaching, sociology, and psychology. In January of 2011 she accepted the additional responsibilities of an administrative assistant for CF. She has had years of employment in corporate and non-profit event planning.
Amber grew up in a home environment of divorce, drugs, alcoholism, and enabling. She has found freedom from her own struggles with co-dependency. Though it was a dysfunctional family, she always felt unconditional love and for that she is grateful. She has seen the power that only Christ can provide for people to be healed and counts it a privilege to be able to play a small part in that transformation.
Amber has been married to Kyle Smith since November 2000. They have three sweet cats born in 1995 and 1996.They have several nieces and nephews who they adore. They enjoy cooking, camping, hiking, and just spending time together with friends and family. Amber additionally loves reading and writing and takes every opportunity to be outside in God’s creation!
