Parish Nurse
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14
The ministry of the Parish Nurse provides preventative and supportive care for the body, mind, and spirit and assists in creating a sense of wellness in the absence of a cure. The goal of this ministry is to assist the people of Celebration in achieving optimal wellness. Our parish nurse works closely with other ministries to connect with and assist members of the congregation. This is accomplished by:
- Visiting individuals in their home, the hospital, or at nursing homes.
- Helping people identify their health needs through surveys and interviews.
- Counseling the people of Celebration Church on health related issues.
- Providing noninvasive medical analylsis and care.
- Serving as a resource person who can refer individuals to community resources and assist in obtaining needed services.
- Coordinating health education classes on a variety of subjects.
- Coordinating health screenings.
- Developing support groups within the church.
Ms. Ann Dunkin, a registered nurse and longtime member of Celebration, has been serving Celebration as Parish Nurse since 2008. She completed training with Wellmont Health System and is part of their Parish Nurse Program. She is dedicated to meeting the health needs of the attendees of Celebration.
